The Humanoid Philosophy

Acknowledging and honoring the human condition.

At Humanoid, we pride ourselves on cutting through the groupthink, and speaking from a place of informed awareness, and respect for the ever-present human factor...

Life is constantly changing and evolving. It can be disorienting. It's easy to get lost if you don't make a habit of checking in with yourself, connecting to what really matters, and realigning to your path when necessary.

In business, the prevailing culture involves making demands of your workers without concern for their limits or wellbeing, and replacing anyone who can't keep up. This leads to high turnover, and training costs.

In love, we're taught to glorify the idea of a long relationship - even to the extent of prioritizing quantity over quality. Divorce is seen as a failure, when it's more often a victory, of self-assertion and prioritization.

So much of what we've taken in stride as "conventional wisdom" is problematic, or outright toxic. Humanoid is here to clarify the difference between "tried and true" vs "outdated." We'll never ask you to sacrifice your own best interests for the sake of the greater good. But we will explain why it's already in your best interest to care about the greater good. And we'll back it up with science and well-documented research so you don't just have to take our word for it!

When it comes to our appearance, we're conditioned to look for things to critique or change. Celebrating ourselves and our unique aesthetic should be the priority.

Many of us have fraught relationships with our bodies. We're taught to focus on size, or strength, rather than form. Most people have misaligned, uncomfortable posture, but they don't know how to improve it.

Coaching-Centered Consulting

Life Coaching vs Consulting

Traditionally, the difference between life coaching and consulting is that a coach offers no insight or advice, whatsoever. Coaching is purely about listening close, paying attention to a client's non-verbal cues to notice what seems important to them, and asking deepening questions to help them find their own answers.

At Humanoid, we combine the best of both techniques. We're both trained in life coaching, and we stay rooted in that pursuit of what really matters to you. But as consultants, we also have a bit more leeway to offer thoughtful suggestions if an opportunity arises to contribute something meaningful. We strike a balance.

One of the biggest benefits of life coaching is to have a space devoted solely to you and your thoughts, dreams, etc... free from anyone else cutting in with their own agenda. At Humanoid, it's a priority for us to preserve that quality, even as we toe the line between coaches and consultants. It's in that space of complete self-focus where you'll make the most profound discoveries and breakthroughs. For this reason, we always start from the coaching process, and then return to it again and again throughout the consulting journey, peppering in our own insight sparingly, only when something is too relevant or valuable to not mention.
