The Humanoid Philosophy

Love
What does love mean to you?

The Ancient Greeks had 7 words for love.
Why do we only use 1?

Philautia
self-love
Agape
empathy; love for all
Pragma
long-term love
Philia
intimate friendship
Ludus
playful love
Storge
unconditional love
Eros
erotic passion
Love shows up in our lives in a variety of different ways. We don't always have access to all 7 types of love. But we can focus on the love we do have at any given moment, appreciating it in whatever form it may take. When it comes to love, the worst thing to do is try to rush it or force it. It happens when it happens, and the more you focus on the lack of it, the more elusive it seems to feel.

It's very human to want love. It's a basic need. The key is to diversify your concept of what counts as love, so you appreciate how much of it you already have, and then focus on developing your self-love to fill in the gaps. That way, external sources of love can come and go without shaking you to your core, and this reduces the pressure, allowing things to flow naturally. Trust that what's for you will find you when you're ready for it. True or not, that attitude is bound to bring out the best in any situation.
